Musings of a pastor

Musings of a pastor

“Today’s thoughts are brought to you by…the musings of a pastor- get it right, all the time!”

Interestingly, although most T.V. programs don’t represent the commercials they advertise, there are some that really want to match the subject matter of the program with the commercials they advertise. If you were to ask a pastor – what is the most difficult struggle you go through? It would be simply this- getting it right, all the time

That’s how most pastors think…. They have a theological framework, and they want to get it right to their congregations and to their families all the time. They want to preach, teach, counsel from the Word of God with accuracy and unambiguous fervour so that people can be changed and transformed. This is good isn’t it? In some ways, it can be the most beneficial work for life but at the same time, if one abandons God himself for the sake of being “right” and “correct” that person can easily fall into the temptation of putting truth above their relationship with the Lord. Can a pastor/church leader put ministry success above their love for the Lord Jesus?

Please see Tim Kellers video sermon on the topic of the gospel and idolatry. Very powerful!
